When you serve the egg white and yolk to your infant, they should be properly cooked.

Raw eggs and runny egg yolks are a source of foodborne infections such as Salmonella and should be avoided until the child reaches the age of five when the immune system is less susceptible to serious infection.

Can I combine egg yolk and milk for my baby?

Hard boil an egg, remove the shell and remove the yolk. Combine it with breast milk, and formula (or whole milk if your baby is over 1 year old).

As your baby’s palate expands, mash the yolk with avocado, banana, sweet potato, and other pureed fruits and vegetables.

So, if the thought of the egg not being thoroughly cooked makes you nervous, heat these for a few minutes after stirring in the egg. It will have no effect on the potatoes.
