The distinction between Nigerian buns and puff puff is not much, which is why some people are confused.

Puff-Puff and Buns are uncannily similar street snacks made by deep frying balled-up pastry.

Puff-Puff vs. Buns: What is the main distinction?

Buns have a crunchy outside and a pillowy-soft inside, whereas Puff-Puff has a spongy soft outside.

The exterior of buns is dry and crunchy, whereas the exterior of puff puff is oily. An oily bun is another name for puff puff.

In buns, baking powder is used, whereas yeast is used in puff puff. At Nigerian events, puff puff is used as small chops.

They also have very similar ingredients, with the exception of yeast. They do, however, necessitate varying levels of preparation.

While Nigerian Buns are more flavorful, with a crunchy exterior and pillowy insides, Puff Puff is more oily, with a soft inside and out.

Nigerians have been known to add pepper, chocolate, fruits, and other ingredients to their puff puff, not buns
